What is Right To Play?
Right To Play is a global organization that protects, educates, and empowers children to rise. We work with children in some of the most dangerous and difficult places on earth, helping them to stay in school and graduate, to resist exploitation and overcome prejudice, to prevent disease and to heal from war and abuse.
For 25 years, we have delivered programs with impact in both development and humanitarian contexts. As pioneers in a unique approach to learning, both inside and outside of the classroom, we harness play, one of the most fundamental forces in a child’s life, to help children dismantle barriers and embrace opportunities. We are the only global development organization focused exclusively on using the power of play to transform children’s lives.
We reach millions of children each year in 14 countries around the world. By collaborating with teachers, governments, communities, and parents, we unlock children’s potential, enabling them to make positive and healthy choices and to create better futures for themselves, their families, and their societies.
How does Right To Play implement their programs?
Right To Play programs are specifically designed to address children’s contextual needs. The programs are implemented in close collaboration with communities, local civil society organizations and governments. Right To Play supports and builds capacity of local institutions and government to ensure sustainability of program impact. All Right To Play programs ensure meaningful and equal participation of girls and boys and we train teachers to use play-based learning to create safe and supportive environments in our four core programs: Gender Equality and Girls’ Well-Being, Primary Education, Early Childhood Care and Education, and Emotional Well-Being.
How will my donation make a difference?
Because of donors like you, Right To Play reaches over 5.5 million children yearly in 14 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and North America. Your contribution will help unlock the potential in girls and boys and empower them with the education and life skills needed to rise above challenges and succeed in learning and life. Where does my gift go?
From protecting and educating children to empowering boys and girls to rise above adversity, your donations will go where there is the greatest need in order to make a lasting impact. 86% of your gift will directly protect, educate and empower children and youth in Right To Play programs, while 14% will be allocated to administration, operations and fundraising costs. Why should I become a monthly donor?
When you become a monthly donor, you are giving the opportunity for children to rise all over the world. Organizations like Right To Play depend heavily on monthly gifts to operate sustainably. Your recurring monthly gift will help Right To Play set predictable budgets more effectively ensuring that more children will be reached with regular Right To Play programming. It allows us to plan strategically and provide resources to communities that need it the most. How do I make changes to my monthly donation?
You have the flexibility to make changes to your monthly gift at any time including amount changes, changes to your contact information, method of payment, pausing your donation or cancelling your gift. You can reach out to us with any questions or concerns by email at scoughlin@righttoplay.com.
What will you do with my details?
It is Right To Play’s priority to ensure the safety and security of all of our donors’ information. This means that we take extensive measures to ensure that your personal information is secured in accordance to current data protection and privacy laws and regulations. Will I receive a tax receipt for my gift?
When you donate online, you will receive a thank you email which will include a tax receipt of your gift. For monthly gifts, you will receive an official annual tax receipt for the total amount of your monthly gifts for that year at the start of the following year.
